Project Brief
The building consisted of a duplex pair of apartments, probably built in the 1940s. Each apartment consisted of two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living areas. The apartments shared the common rear garden.
The project was to provide updated kitchens and bathrooms to both apartments, extended living area to ground floor apartment and private outdoor space to upper floor apartment.
Design Response
The ground floor apartment was provided with an extended living area and walk-through study, with updated kitchen and bathroom. The new living area provides direct access to the private rear garden.
The roof of the ground floor extension forms a private roof terrace for the upper apartment, directly accessed from a new compact kitchen/dining area.
